At the moment propagating (cuttings) of Antima. this groundcover keeps weeds away and prevents over-evaporating of moisture in the heat. Also keeps the soil relatively cool. Slowly we want to cover all the ground between the large specimens with this groundcover. One expect to see a 'dry garden' but our garden (at least a large part) should look lush green while minimalising irrigation in Summer.

Grub,

Folling your garden to try to learn more about cacti and succulents.
I'm mad about the flora of your country. I'm more attracted about Proteaceae and Clivia though...

Herman have a look at the http://www.hardytropicals.co.uk forum, quite a few Cacti and succulent growers to be found who may have interesting swaps for you.
